It's huge and full of so many animals you can literally spend an entire day there. But if you're sensitive to hot weather, you might wanna wait until fall comes. Pilot Mountain State Park probably isn't very fall from you. Hanging Rock State Park is probably also nearby...and it has some falls. A great day trip would be the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro.
